The Tadpole is designed to be utilized as pre-filter to your pump and existing system, but it can also be used as the "total pond filter" in small applications. The Tadpole Pre-Filter is completely submersible and easily cleaned for re-use. For effective small pond filtration, it's hard to beat a Tadpole Filter and SMART UV System! The SMART UV must be positioned after the Tadpole where it receives solids-free water. This will provide maximum UV treatment, resulting in the optimal control of waterborne algae and harmful bacteria.
